We were lucky enough to have a heart-to-heart with the lovely Pilar of the Opendoor Cafe. Be sure to pay them a visit with your dog soon - it's has a welcoming, neighbourly vibe and is the perfect spot for pet owners and dog walkers and sitters to enjoy a coffee with their meet and greet!

1) Firstly, can you introduce yourself and your role at the Opendoor Cafe?

I am one of the co-founders of the cafe and as part of the team, help make any major decisions and plans for the place.

2) We love that your cafe is pet-friendly! Can you tell us a little about the cafe and why you decided to allow pets?

Opendoor Cafe is a neighbourhood cafe, welcoming everyone and all members of the family. We serve healthy, hearty comfort food and drinks as well as cafe favourites. We also cater to special dietary requirements with signature items like our cauliflower ‘rice’ and provide almond, coconut and soy milk as dairy alternatives.

3) What kind of treats can furry guests enjoy?

What's the most popular pet-friendly item on the menu? Our furry guests can enjoy an organic soy puppuccino, and sometimes doggie snacks and baked items are available from a local dog bakery.

5) Do you currently have any pets yourself?

I’ve always had a furry friend growing up, and at its peak had 2 dogs and 4 cats. Currently there are no pets at home, unfortunately this is due to my husband’s allergies.

6) Are there any exciting plans for the future at the Opendoor Cafe?

For Opendoor Cafe we are always looking for new projects and partners, we like to support local charities and host doggie playdates and dog adoption days too. So we’ll plan to do more of these in the future.

Be sure to say hello to the folks at the Opendoor cafe on Facebook or in person with your dog at G/F 120 Connaught Road West, Sai Ying Pun, Hong Kong. We're sure it will become a hot favourite with Pawshake pet sitters and dog walkers!
