My name is Ruth. I am born in Hong Kong and live on the Island side. My mother tongue is Cantonese, English and Mandarin are my second language. I have been a pet lover for many years, and have experience of walking dogs especially Corgis. I have been passionate for making friends with relatively small-sized dogs such as Corgi, Shiba Inu, Bichons or Pomeranian, etc.
Beside doggies, I love cats and rabbits as well. Though I am not very familiar with their breed names. In my family, only my brother and I love pets. My parents are not especially keen on animals, so we do not have chance to get a pet at home.
And my experience with pets are mainly gained in the regular visits to my friends' dogs and cats, and also in some cafes with corgis or rabbits. From time to time, I also learn where to buy suitable snacks or cute clothes for dogs to celebrate their birthday or special occasion, like little buddies or small kids. The memory with one or two of my favourite dogs could be refreshed always in my many photo albums, including the photos taken when we went hiking or to the beach together.
To my understanding, the characteristics of dogs are that they are more friendly to interact with humans. Dogs are excellent companions as they are able to read human gestures and emotions, so communications with them are sweet and soothing experience. Yet cats enjoy autonomy more, and they prefer humans not to stick with them all the time. They interact only when they have the mood. Rabbits are a bit shy and delicate, though, they enjoy gentle touch and soft voice as a friendly gesture to them.
It would be absolutely my great pleasure if I could help take care of the precious pets of busy owners in Hong Kong, and I would enjoy those moments very much. I am currently working as a freelancer, so I can be made available during daytime if appointed for petsitting.
