About Yentl
Hello, my name is Yentl – welcome to my profile!
I was born in Hong Kong and raised in both Hong Kong and the UK. In my spare time, I love being outdoors—strolling along the waterfront, hiking, camping, and practicing yoga. I also enjoy café-hopping, drawing, and learning languages; currently, I’m studying French!
I live in a 3-bedroom flat in Causeway Bay with my French boyfriend. We’re both in our 30s and work from home, which allows us to spend lots of quality time with our furry guests. Causeway Bay may be bustling, but it’s full of dog-friendly gems. On weekends, we love meeting friends at our favorite restaurant at Fashion Walk, Elephant Ground, with our family dog or our foster pups. We enjoy walking along the waterfront, visiting dog parks, and connecting with other dog parents in the community.
Right next to us is the charming Tai Hang, known for its dog-friendly community and cafes like BOGU and Ask for Alonzo. In addition, we often take our furry friends to the Peak or the East Coast Boardwalk in North Point for some fresh air and adventure.
Why I Want to Be a Pet Sitter
Growing up surrounded by pets—rabbits, birds, hamsters, and fish—has fueled my passion for animal care. My own experience with Moses, a Samoyed my family and I adopted at age 2, has been particularly transformative. Initially insecure and anxious, he is now a trusting and friendly companion, teaching me how much love and support can help a dog in need. He’s now 10 years old and spoiled rotten by my family!
Since moving out 3 years ago, I’ve been dog-sitting for friends and fostering both puppies and adult dogs. Each dog has a unique personality and set of needs, and while it can be challenging at times, I’ve developed skills in training, socialization, and understanding non-verbal cues. Watching rescues become trusting and find loving homes has been incredibly rewarding.
Whenever I spend time with dogs, I notice my stress levels decrease. Caring for them and witnessing their growth brings me immense joy, and it has taught me to be more compassionate and responsible.
My Experience and What I Offer
Working from home enables my boyfriend and me to provide consistent care, playtime, and attention to your woof(s), ensuring they feel loved and secure. Our hands-on experience with various dogs makes us comfortable with basic training techniques (i.e. commands & potty), administering preventative medication, and maintaining hygiene (i.e. showering & teeth-cleaning).
Overnight Boarding Service Details
We can comfortably accommodate up to two dogs at a time, or three puppies (aged 1–3 months). Your dog will enjoy three daily walks, each lasting 30 to 45 minutes. You can rest assured that your furry friend will be well-supervised and never left alone for more than an hour, as we both work from home. Your dog will have the freedom to sleep wherever they feel most comfortable. If you're boarding a puppy with us, we’ll puppy-proof our flat to create a safe and secure environment. Pick-up and drop-off services are available at HK$175 within Hong Kong Island, and HK$250/+ outside of Hong Kong Island depending on the exact location and approximate taxi fare.
There are also numerous veterinary options nearby, including SPCA (Wanchai), Veterinary Specialty Hospital (Wanchai), Causeway Bay Animal Hospital, Dr. Hugh’s Veterinary Hospital, 24-Hour Concordia Pet Care (North Point), and Pet Central (North Point), ensuring quick access in case of emergencies.
House-sitting Service Details
In addition to taking care of your pets, providing them with high quality play-time, exercise, and feeding, I'll also tend to your plants, making sure that they receive the proper care needed to thrive as well as keeping your home safe and cared for while you're away. You can enjoy peace of mind knowing that your furry friends, plants and home are in good hands. An additional HK$150 will be charged for each additional dog, to account for the extra care and attention they require.
I’m committed to treating your fluffy friends with the same love and care I give my own. I’m excited about the opportunity to look after your beloved woof(s) and ensure they feel happy and secure while you’re away!
