Hi! My name is Bailey and I come from Canada! I’ve lived in Hong Kong for over two and a half years. I work full time as a copy-writer in Tai Koo and reside in Kennedy Town area.
Ever since I was a young girl I have always been surrounded by dogs – both big and small, purebreds and rescues. As a child we had a chocolate lab and cocker spaniel. Then into adulthood cats from college roommates and (another) rescue dog at home.
Since moving to Asia there has been a void in my heart, because my apartment has little space for a dog or cat of my own. I love animals – each time I see a dog walking past on the street it’s like seeing a pup for the very first time all over again.
I try to volunteer as much as possible at the dog shelters in the New Territories. I would like to help out as much as I can with other people’s pets and ensure them a safe and playful sitter. Pets are our family and I want to help keep yours in good hands!
Please note: with the protests making it increasingly harder to access transportation. I may have to ask that a taxi fee be included if I am unable to reach your pet via bus/train.
Bailey looked after our two cats over the Christmas break. She was diligent and despite the hurdles with local protests was able to visit on the requested times. We appreciate her care and attention.
Bailey took care of our rescue pup for 10 days over Christmas and we were really happy with everything!
To begin with, Bailey came to meet our dog in our flat and we also did a walk around the area - she was really keen to her to know our dog first because our dog is a little nervous having been in a shelter for a long time.
Bailey did a home stay for us and always sent pics and videos of our dog to keep us in the loop.
We have already booked her again for another homestay. Bailey is reliable, genuinely great with animals (and people!) and we would recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable pet sitter.
As mentioned, I have been around dogs all of my life both big and small. I am patient and skilled at walking dogs especially in a tense city like Hong Kong where there are many people afraid of dogs. Excrement does not frighten me, making me an ideal person for helping with tidying up. I listen to pets and make sure their needs are met, such as always having a bowl of water available and listening for when the bathroom walk calls!
When it comes to cats, I never try to force affection on them and take a 'let them come to me' approach. I've administered eye drops and oral medication in the past.
