I'm Claude and I'm a vet from the Philippines. I worked with small animal practice for eight years in different places. I practiced my profession at home for 3 years. I was also a veterinary technician in a clinic in Singapore for a year. I volunteered in a shelter in Thailand for 7 months and still working as an administrator/liaison for veterinary intern students in the same shelter. I still visit the place every now and then to help with the Trap Neuter Release program. Once in a while, I volunteer with government programs at home including spay and neuter and mass rabies vaccination.
I worked in a clinic in Hong Kong for few months before moving to the university (HKUST) in a laboratory animal facility as a veterinary technician. I handle rabbits, mice and generally know the basic of guinea pigs and hamsters.
I lived most of my life having a pet around me and I missed having one, so my friend suggested me to be a pet sitter. I've been pet sitting back home before and also pet sits my friend's when they are on vacation. I am capable of giving medicines, orally, or injections (diabetes patients, giving fluids) if needed, topical ones for flea and tick and also bathing small or big dogs. I enjoy bathing them when they enjoy it too. If there is an area for good walking, I love to walk them for an hour at least especially young and energetic dogs. I can do at most 2 visits per day on weekdays and 3 visits on weekends. For pet sitting, I may be able to do overnight on weekdays and whole day on weekends. 🙂
Claudette is a dream come true with the cats. They took to her well, particularly Mango who is usually very scared of strangers. On the first night she was over he was resting on his floor bed, which never happens. And when I returned, it was like as if I didn’t leave at all. A true testament to how comfortable and happy. Mom they were. Thank you, Claudette!
