Hello furparents! I am Abi.
I am a Philippine-licensed veterinarian. Currently, I am working in a laboratory animal facility at The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST). I previously worked at a small animal clinic in the Philippines and a dog-racing facility in Macau for several months. Prior to that, I also worked at a zoo facility in the Philippines for few years, working with a variety of exotic and zoo animals.
Since a child and while growing up, animals have always been a constant presence in my life. I consider every animal that came into my life as family. I am also blessed to grow up in an animal-loving family. We have had several pets since I was a child. We had dogs, cats, rabbits, goats, birds, pigs, chickens. Currently, we have 6 cats and 3 dogs. But all of them are in the Philippines, so I cannot spend as much time with them as I want to. When I learned from a friend about pawshake and petsitting, I decided to give it a try. This way, I can still bond with animals on my free time.
I offer home visits (one or two visits per day) or housesitting. With home visits, I usually stay a minimum of 1.5 hours per visit(do feeding, cleaning, playtime, or anything else needed). But may be longer for dog walking. For housesitting, I stay at the owners's house and accompany the pet/s overnight. I leave in the morning to go to my work and return to the owner's house in the evening. For both services, I always try to copy the routine of the owner with their pets to make every moment great for the animals.
Looking forward to meeting you and your furbabies!

Abi is simply marvellous. She is great with the cats ; highly responsible and hugely responsive to any concerns
Abi came for the first time to get familiar with our two sweethearts. She is very reliable and conscientious and eager to learn new things. When Abi greeted Calina, she replied with her high pitched voice. We groomed our kitties a little bit together and they let her do it, which is not an easy task as they are long furred and like to move when they think it is enough. Then we also checked Vladimir's claws and did some clipping. Furthermore, she also took care of medicating Calina who swallowed happily the mixture. I definitely would recommend her to other pet owners.
