Hi! I’m Mar – a lifelong animal lover with years of experience caring for dogs & cats. I live with my partner, Dan, and until recently, we shared our lives with our beloved pups Brooke (a sweet Golden Retriever, 12) and Pipo (a rescued fluffball, 16). Sadly, we lost them both to cancer last year. Life feels very different without animals around, and we truly miss the joy and chaos that comes with sharing space with furry
friends. 

After losing our dogs, we relocated from the UK to Hong Kong. Unfortunately, Pawshake didn't allow me to transfer my UK profile, but I’ve included screenshots of past reviews in my photo gallery so you can get a sense of the care I’ve provided before. 

 I sometimes work from home to have doggies here with me, so they take me out for walks throughout the day! We live in a spacious four-bedroom flat in Mid-Levels with a good-sized terrace – dogs are allowed everywhere, and they’ll likely be chilling with me in the office or stretched out on the sofa in front of the AC. 

I’m also available for dog walking, home visits, and house sitting, depending on availability – always mindful of Hong Kong’s intense heat.

Why I Do This?

My motivation is simple: I’m a worrier too! I know exactly what it’s like to leave your pet behind and wonder if they’re truly okay. That’s why I want to help other pet parents feel at peace while they’re away. I’ve always looked after pets for friends and family, and now I’d love to do the same for others looking for a safe, loving environment. I’ll happily share updates – as many (or as few!) photos and videos as you’d like while your dog is with me.

 Experience 

I’ve been lucky to have dogs and animals around me all my life. My first companion was Andy, a Collie who joined our family when I was just one year old – he was my brother in every way that mattered. Since then, I’ve fostered, rehomed, and supported many animals through volunteer work and NGOs. 

Brooke came to me as a 40-day-old pup, small enough to fit in my hand. Pipo was originally a foster who never left – a “failed foster” success story. Both required extra care as they aged, and I’m experienced in managing medications, mobility issues, and other health needs with love and confidence.

 -What I can do:

 • Medication administration if needed 

 I can board more than one dog from the same household, but won’t mix dogs from different homes unless they’ve met before and it’s a mutually beneficial setup. Walk length and activity level will be based on your pup’s individual needs and the weather – all of which we’ll discuss in advance. 

-Time with pets: 

If my calendar shows I’m available for daycare or boarding, that means I’m working from home – your dog won’t be left alone, except for the occasional errand (never more than an hour). 

-Our home: 

I live with Dan, who’s just as dog-obsessed as I am. While it’s not the right time for us to adopt again, we’d love to care for your dog like one of our own. The flat is spacious, dog-friendly, and air-conditioned, with a nice terrace to enjoy (when the weather allows). We are one minute walk away from the Caine Lane Garden area, which is always full of friendly doggies.

Expect lots of attention, comfort, and affection :)
